This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of WeDance's services, including Step (our event ticketing and management platform) and any related services we provide. By using our services, you agree to comply with this AUP, our Terms of Service, and all applicable laws.
Third-Party Payment Processor Policies
WeDance uses PayPal and Stripe to process payments. In addition to this AUP, you must also comply with their acceptable use policies:
1. Permitted Uses
1.1 Event Organizers
Event organizers may use Step to:
- Create and manage in-person dance events
- Sell event tickets
- Manage attendee lists and check-ins
- Process payments for events
- Conduct fundraising activities (when feature is available)
- Communicate with attendees about events
1.2 Vendors
Vendors associated with events may use our platform to:
- Sell products related to events they are or have been associated with
- Sell products at events or online through the platform
- Manage inventory and orders
Note: Vendors are solely responsible for fulfilling orders and delivering products to customers.
1.3 Attendees
Attendees may use our platform to:
- Browse and discover dance events
- Purchase event tickets
- Purchase products from vendors
- Manage their event registrations
- Communicate with organizers (when applicable)
2. Prohibited Activities
The following activities are strictly prohibited on the WeDance platform:
2.1 Illegal Activities
- Using our services for any illegal purpose or in violation of any local, state, national, or international law
- Facilitating or promoting illegal activities
- Money laundering or terrorist financing
- Sale of illegal goods or services
- Fraud, deception, or misrepresentation
2.2 Prohibited Content
- Explicit, obscene, pornographic, or sexually suggestive content
- Content that promotes violence, discrimination, or hate speech
- Content that infringes on intellectual property rights
- Spam, unsolicited marketing, or misleading information
- Links to explicit or inappropriate websites
- Malicious software, viruses, or harmful code
2.3 Platform Misuse
- Creating fake, duplicate, or fraudulent events
- Impersonating other users, organizers, or WeDance staff
- Reselling, scalping, or transferring tickets without authorization
- Creating events for non-dance related activities (the platform is exclusively for dance events and related services)
- Manipulating the platform to gain unfair advantages
- Circumventing security measures or access controls
- Scraping or harvesting user data without permission
2.4 Financial Misconduct
- Processing fraudulent payments or chargebacks
- Manipulating pricing or fees
- Failing to maintain adequate funds for potential refunds
- Refusing to honor your stated refund policy
- Using the platform to facilitate unauthorized transactions
2.5 Prohibited Industries & Activities (Per PayPal and Stripe)
In accordance with PayPal and Stripe policies, you may not use our platform for:
- Gambling, gaming, or lotteries
- Sale of tobacco, e-cigarettes, or related products
- Sale of prescription drugs or medical devices
- Sale of firearms, ammunition, or weapons
- Adult entertainment or services
- Multi-level marketing or pyramid schemes
- High-risk financial services
- Any activity prohibited by PayPal or Stripe's policies
3. User Responsibilities
3.1 Age Requirements
- Users must be at least 18 years old to purchase tickets or products
- Minimum age for event attendance is determined by the event organizer
- Organizers must clearly state age requirements in event descriptions
3.2 Organizer Responsibilities
- Provide accurate and truthful event information
- Honor your stated refund and cancellation policies
- Maintain sufficient funds to process refunds when required
- Respond to attendee inquiries in a timely manner
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations
- Ensure your event complies with local venue and safety requirements
- Handle disputes with attendees professionally and in good faith
3.3 Vendor Responsibilities
- Fulfill all orders in a timely manner
- Provide accurate product descriptions and pricing
- Handle returns and customer service according to stated policies
- Only sell products related to events you are associated with
3.4 Attendee Responsibilities
- Review event details and refund policies before purchasing
- Do not resell or transfer tickets without authorization
- Respect event organizers, vendors, and other attendees
- Follow event rules and venue policies
4. Geographic Restrictions
Our services are not available in countries that do not adhere to international cyber laws or where our payment processors (PayPal and Stripe) are unavailable. WeDance reserves the right to restrict access from any geographic location at our discretion.
5. Content Guidelines
5.1 Event Listings
- Event descriptions must be accurate and not misleading
- Promotional content is allowed and encouraged
- Images must be appropriate and relevant to the event
- External links are permitted but must not lead to explicit or inappropriate content
5.2 User Communications
- Communications must be respectful and professional
- Harassment, threats, or abusive language is prohibited
- Spam or unsolicited marketing is not allowed
6. Refunds and Disputes
6.1 Refund Policies
- Refunds are at the organizer's discretion
- Organizers must clearly state their refund policy before ticket sales
- Users should review refund policies before purchasing tickets
- Organizers may cancel events and issue refunds when necessary
6.2 Dispute Resolution
Disputes and chargebacks should first be resolved between the organizer and attendee. If you cannot reach a resolution:
- Contact WeDance support for assistance
- If an organizer is violating their stated refund policy, WeDance will help facilitate fund recovery
- WeDance will make best efforts to assist but is not responsible if the organizer finds ways to circumvent the process
- Organizers who repeatedly violate refund policies or take advantage of users will be banned and reported to relevant authorities
7. Payouts and Financial Management
7.1 Payout Schedules
PayPal Payouts:
- First-time users: Monthly payouts
- After first event with acceptable ticket sales, positive user feedback/ratings, and demonstrated reliability: Option to request bi-weekly payouts (subject to WeDance approval based on organizer reputation and trust)
Stripe Payouts:
- Weekly automatic payouts
7.2 Financial Responsibilities
- Organizers must maintain sufficient funds in their accounts to process refunds when necessary
- You are responsible for all fees associated with your chosen payout method
- You are responsible for accurate tax reporting and compliance
8. Enforcement and Consequences
8.1 Violations
Violations of this AUP may result in:
- Warning and required corrective action
- Temporary suspension of account
- Permanent ban from the platform
- Reporting to law enforcement authorities
- Legal action to recover damages
8.2 Explicit Content Policy
Posting explicit media/content or explicit external links will result in immediate account ban and reporting to appropriate authorities. This is strictly enforced with zero tolerance.
8.3 Platform Abuse
Organizers found to be violating policies, taking advantage of the platform, or engaging in fraudulent activities will be immediately banned and reported to relevant authorities and payment processors.
9. Account Termination
WeDance may suspend or terminate accounts for violations of this AUP, our Terms of Service, payment processor policies, or applicable laws. Reasons for termination include but are not limited to:
- Fraudulent activity or repeated policy violations
- Illegal activities or prohibited content
- Chargebacks, payment disputes, or financial misconduct
- Failure to fulfill obligations to attendees
- Impersonation, harassment, or abuse of other users
Upon termination, you will lose access to your account and the ability to create new events. Pending payouts for completed events will be processed according to the standard payout schedule, minus any refunds, chargebacks, or fees owed. WeDance reserves the right to hold funds if there are pending disputes, investigations, or potential refund obligations.
In most cases, we will provide warnings before termination. However, severe violations (such as illegal activity or explicit content) may result in immediate termination without prior notice.

11. Changes to This Policy
WeDance reserves the right to modify this Acceptable Use Policy at any time. We will notify users of significant changes via email or platform notification. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
