Step is WeDance's mobile app for discovering dance events, buying tickets, booking private classes, and connecting with the global dance community. It's available for iOS and Android.
Yes! Step is free to download and use. You only pay when you purchase tickets to events or book private classes. Organizers pay a small fee when they sell tickets.
Download Step from the App Store or Google Play, then sign up with your email, Google account, or Apple ID. It takes less than a minute to get started.
Step covers all partner and social dance styles, salsa, bachata, kizomba, zouk, West Coast Swing, tango, and many more. We're constantly growing to include more styles and communities.
Find an event on Step, select the ticket type you want, and check out securely with your card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or other payment methods. Your ticket appears instantly in your Step wallet.
We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover), Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, and several regional payment methods depending on your location.
Your tickets are stored in Step under 'My Tickets.' Just show the QR code at the event door, no printing needed. Your tickets work even without internet access.
If the event allows transfers, open My tickets from Home or your profile menu, open the ticket, and tap Transfer. The recipient gets an email with Accept and Decline buttons (no sign-in needed) and can also manage it under My tickets → Transfers.
Your tickets are linked to your account, not your device. Log in to Step on another device and they'll be there. You can also contact the event organizer with your order confirmation.
Refunds are handled by the event organizer, not by Step. Each organizer sets their own refund policy, which is displayed on the event page before you purchase. Contact the organizer directly to request a refund.
Organizers who use Step commit to refunding dancers if they cancel an event. If an organizer cancels and fails to provide refunds, their account will be flagged and they may lose the ability to create future events.
Contact the event organizer directly. You can find their contact information on the event page in Step. Refunds are at the organizer's discretion based on their stated policy.
If an organizer cancels an event and refuses to honor refunds, please report this to us at support@wedance.world. We take this seriously and will take appropriate action on their account.
Create an organizer account in Step, connect a payout method (Stripe, PayPal, or Wise), and then create your event. Add details, photos, tickets, and publish when you're ready.
Nothing! Organizers pay no fees, you keep 100% of your ticket price. A small 2.8% platform fee is added for ticket buyers at checkout, plus standard payment processing fees. Free events are always free to list.
When you get paid depends on your event and your standing as an organizer. Verified, established organizers with a good track record can receive part of their ticket earnings before the event to cover costs like DJs and artists, with the rest released after. Newer organizers are paid after the event while building a track record. Funds then arrive through your connected method (Stripe, PayPal, or Wise) within a few business days.
Yes! When creating your event, you can choose your refund policy, full refund until a certain date, partial refund, or non-refundable. This is displayed to buyers before purchase.
Use Step to scan QR codes from attendees' phones. Check-in works offline and gives you real-time attendance tracking. No special hardware needed, any smartphone works.
Private classes are offered by talent who are booked at events. When attending an event, you can book private sessions with the instructors and artists performing there. This helps ensure a safe and verified experience.
The standard policy is: full refund if cancelled 48+ hours before, 50% refund if cancelled 24-48 hours before, and no refund if cancelled less than 24 hours before. Some instructors may offer more flexible terms.
For safety reasons, private classes are only offered by verified talent who are booked at events. This ensures that instructors have been vetted by event organizers and provides a safer environment for dancers.
Absolutely. All payments are processed by Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment processor. We never see or store your full card number. Your data is encrypted and protected by industry-leading security.
You can delete your account from the Settings menu in Step. This will remove your profile and personal data. Note that some transaction records may be retained for legal and tax purposes.
Tap 'Forgot password' on the login screen and enter your email. We'll send you a link to reset your password. If you signed up with Google or Apple, use those options to log in instead.
Go to Settings in Step, tap on your account information, and update your email. You'll need to verify the new email address before the change takes effect.
We're here to help. Reach out and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.
